Z-Med, a branch of Zahir Vallie’s Z-Group which is dedicated to emergency response, was applauded by a local pre-school in the Southern Suburbs earlier this week.
A team of paramedics made their way to a pre-school situated in the Southern Suburbs (who preferred not to be named to ensure safety measures) to educate the young children on what they can do if they ever found themselves to be part of a minor emergency.
The decision was made after the previous pre-school visit done by Z-Med in June 2021 was a big success. Vallie, CEO of the Z-Group advised his emergency response unit, Z-Med, to start another community project as his way of giving back to the community.
In June 2021, a few of the Z-Med paramedics created time between their back-to-back shifts to visit and inform the young children at Rochefort Rakkers Pre-School. The success of the visit drove the idea of creating another community project for the end of 2022. Z-Med also made its rounds to a low-income area earlier in the month to provide free health checks to the community’s seniors.
“We are excited to get this new project going. We believe that giving back to the community is part of our job description here at Z-Med,” says one of the Z-Med medics and volunteers for disaster risk management.
