Z-Med prepares for “Wheel to Heal” marathon

Z-Med is proud to be associated with Wheel to Heal, an organization in support of cancer and multiple sclerosis. Wheel to Heal hopes to raise R2 million in support of the Pink Drive and Multiple Sclerosis Organization of South Africa.
To put these wheels in motion, a group of thirty cyclists is embarking on a race from Mossel Bay to Cape Town from Saturday 3 December to Sunday 11th December. This journey will span 550 km and crisscross through several small towns such as Caltizdorp, Ladysmith, Montague, Wellington, and Paarl. The cyclists will also distribute food hampers to needy communities along those routes.
A Z-Med ambulance will accompany the riders to provide medical support and if required, emergency medical assistance.
“Cancer and multiple sclerosis affect so many people, many of whom cannot get the necessary treatment they need. A cause like Wheels to Heal will allow many affected individuals to get the help they need,” says Zahir Vallie, founder of Z-Med.
In South Africa, the public healthcare system is failing to fulfill the right to access health for cancer patients. Cancer treatment is severely underfunded in the country. For media enquiries, contact Dustin 067 738 2262
