Z-Med prepares for “Wheel to Heal” cycling marathon

Dr. Elias Parker, resident and dental surgeon launched a campaign to raise funds in aid of cancer and multiple sclerosis awareness and research. After his wife tragically succumbed to cancer, he aimed to create more awareness of the disease.
Parker, who also cycles, has created a 9-day cycling ride for the “Wheel to Heal” foundation to raise awareness and funds for cancer and multiple sclerosis. The ride will start from Mossel Bay and end all the way to Cape Town. Zahir Vallie’s “Z-Med” emergency unit has agreed to take part in the 9-day cycling tour by providing their much-needed services to the cyclists participating.
The “Z-Med” team will provide medical and emergency assistance to ensure a safe and secure journey for all cyclists participating in the cycling ride. This comes from “Z-Med’s” ongoing assistance to the community which Vallie says is his, “way of giving back to the community.”
“We are excited to be a part of such a charitable event. We like to help where we can, and what better charity can we give than helping those reach their target in doing good for the people,” Z-Med’s lead paramedic stated.
