On the 18th of April 2023, the Z-Med team provided their assistance to the Muslims of the community during an auspicious night of prayer, Laylatul Qadr. The night was the 27th of Ramadan, a holy night observed by Muslims worldwide. The Z-Group was honoured to provide assistance at the York Road mosque in Lansdowne, where an estimated 2500 people had gathered for the congregation.
Each year, when York Road holds this event, Zahir Vallie gathers the members of the Z-Group, to be of aid to the Lansdowne community during their acts of worship. The Z-Med ambulance services were present to ensure that worshippers would receive immediate medical assistance in case of an emergency. Fortunately, there were no incidents that required their services.
Apart from the Z-Med team, other members of the Z-Group worked in different capacities to support the congregation. They assisted with setting up, road closures, and parking. Their combined efforts helped ensure that the night of worship proceeded smoothly.
One of the paramedics present at York Road shared his experience, saying, “It was so amazing to see so many people come out for the same thing in one night. It was so cold outside, yet those people looked like they were happy to be there.”
The Z-Med team’s participation in this event is a testament to their commitment to serving the community.
